Anat Zeltser and Modi Bar-On first met in the corridors of Israeli Educational Television while working on the youth magazine Everything is Open. It was there, during the filming of a special episode on Theodor Herzl’s visit to Israel, that they discovered not only a deep, shared passion for local history, but also an artistic language capable of translating that passion to the screen.

This encounter sparked an extraordinary creative partnership that spanned a quarter of a century. Together, they produced an extensive body of work that combined profound documentary research with intelligent, accessible storytelling. The duo is responsible for some of the most influential series in Israeli television, including It’s All People - which became a staple of the national educational system; In the Land of the Jews, a survey of Israeli humor and entertainment that won the Israeli Academy Award; as well as the series Tel Aviv-Jaffa, The Kibbutz, Route 90, One More Bedtime Story, and Lesson in Homeland.

Through their collaborative work, they succeeded in deconstructing and rebuilding Israeli myths, bridging the gap between archives and reality, and weaving the personal into the national narrative.
